Inn at Aspen, Samana Lounge Vail
Last weekend Doctor Robert, The Beatles tribute, played two new venues, The Inn at Aspen and Samana Lounge in Vail. After our “First Fridays” show at Black Nugget in Carbondale, we had an earlier performance for apres ski at The Inn at Aspen. This was our first show in Aspen since The Fourth of July last summer, and it seems we weren’t forgotten! Thanks to the many “regulars” that came out, as well as any first-timers, we can’t believe how much fun it is to play in Aspen! On Sunday, we made our way to The Samana Lounge in Vail. The World Cup was in town, so the Sunday show was full of music fans from around the world. Thanks to everyone that made for a great first show at Samana! We met people from 21 to 81 years young, from places like Argentina and the Ukraine. It just kept getting more crowded and more enthusiastic as the night went on, with the peak of the evening coming during the “Hey Jude” encore. What a great “community” experience, watching people that have never met each other joined arm-in-arm, singing their hearts out to the greatest rock and roll music ever written.
USA Pro Challenge 2014
Doctor Robert, The Beatles tribute, was very fortunate to be invited to perform at two finishes of the 2014 Pro Challenge road bike race. The first performance was after Stage 2 in Mt. Crested Butte, the second was after Stage 3 at Monarch Mountain. Thanks to both LOC’s for having us, we’re honored to be part of the biggest cycling event in the U.S.

Boulder Beer, Ute Theatre in Saguache
Doctor Robert brought it’s unique Beatles tribute to Boulder Beer and The Ute Theatre in Saguache last week, playing two different, fun shows for a mix of new fans and many that have seen us several times. Recordings from both shows can be found below.
Boulder Beer makes for a casual, laid-back atmosphere to play Beatles music, and is always a good time for Doctor Robert. The rains delayed our start time, but it cleared out early enough for our full two-set show. The Ute Theatre is an amazing little venue in the amazing little town of Saguache, Colorado. Every time we’ve played a show in the San Luis Valley, we’ve had the nicest people and some of the biggest Beatles fans turn out. This was no different, as we played over three hours of Beatles music for a very attentive and insprired audience. The energy was high at Ute Theatre, and we definitely felt the love from the crowd all night. We’re always inspired to perform at our best when we’re under the microscope like the show in Saguache, thanks to our many San Luis Valley fans that made the trip from Alamosa, Del Norte, Monte Vista, Crestone, and Saguache. Doctor Robert, Colorado Beatles Tribute
Doctor Robert performed for the second time this winter at Crested Butte Mountain Resort, to a packed house at Butte 66. Every show seems to get better for us at this base area venue, and we want to thank all the locals and visitors for making it such a great day of Beatles music. This may have broken the record for number of dancers in ski/snowboard boots, as the enthusiasm was quite high last Saturday. As usual, we played a setlist that mixed crowd favorites with rare “deep” tracks. Here are a handful of recordings from the show:

This past weekend brought Doctor Robert, The Beatles Tribute, back for our third stop at The San Luis Valley Brewing Company, and our fourth visit to Del Norte, this time for the Rio Grande Savings and Loan Holiday party. We continue to be amazed by the enthusiasm and support we receive in The Valley. Thanks to everyone for coming out on two snowy nights to enjoy some Beatles music played by Doctor Robert from Crested Butte, Colorado.
